At Riverfield Country Day School, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) has been and continues to be an important area of focus and effort—for students, faculty, staff, and parents alike.
The DEIJ Alliance came together in 2021 at the direction of the Board of Trustees and has been working to inform and empower all of the RCDS community including faculty and staff, parents and students, as well as alumni, and alumni parents. The Alliance currently consists of three working groups: Policy and Procedures, Classroom Resources, and Training for Adults. Through the Alliance, RCDS faculty and Alliance members have completed trainings on racial justice, gender identity, and education equity.
The DEIJ Steering Committee has been working to provide an official voice for the DEIJ Alliance with institutional and structural support from the Board of Trustees. The Diversity Alliance, composed of Riverfield Students, has provided ground-level support to student concerns.
